Sometimes we might get into a situation where we need to access a computer with the different operating system. But we cannot an extra system with us. So in order to have another computer’s access, We can now virtually add OS of any kind and dual-boot it.
How To Run Two Operating Systems On One Computer At The Same Time
Dual booting is nothing but running different operating systems on a machine. Which means that one can boot windows 7, 8, 8.1 along aside to windows 10. You can even access Linus on your Windows 10 which might be a little difficult. So here we gonna discuss virtually accessing Linux with windows or dual booting multiple operating systems.
Can I install two operating systems on one computer?
How can I install two os on one computer?
Can you run Linux and Windows on the same computer at the same time?
How many operating systems can be installed on a computer?
Note: We gonna dual boot different os using windows 10 machine. The same procedure works fine with other operating systems too. You can run windows virtually on linux and vice versa.
Make sure you have the operating system’s ISO file which you want to run alongside your default OS. In my case I choose Linux. Once you have downloaded the alternative Operating System’s ISO file proceed to the below steps.
Step1: Download and install VMware or its best alternative VirtualBox on your system and open it. In my case I use VMWare. One the interface is opened up just select to create a new virtual machine and choose Typical settings.
Step2: Then choose “Installer Disc Image File (iso):” and browser the ISO file of the operating system which you want to run virtually.
Step3: Then choose the desired name to your guest operating system and click on next. Then on the next dialogue give the amount of hard disk space to this virtual machine. With default the minimum space allocated is 20GB, You can change it as per your needs. And then click on Next.
Step4: Then you need to customize the Hardware and provide the amount of RAM to this virtual machine and click on next. Make sure to go through each and every element of this hardware configurations carefully and allocate.
Stetp5: Then click on next and finish the setup process. Once you completed this setup process, Then you can live boot or install the virtual operating system.
That’s it, Now you are all set to run any OS virtual along with your default system. In the same process, You can easily install multiple systems on your default system. So in order to make all the virtual operating systems run properly all you need to do is to install high resources on the hardware of the computer.
